The Old Town at Scott Ranch is an authentic, fully functional 1880s Western frontier movie set on John Scott’s 5,000-acre working cattle ranch near Longview, Alberta. Featuring a main street with period-accurate saloon, sheriff’s office, general store, bank, and livery stable—all with usable interiors—it has starred in over 50 films and TV shows, including Monty Walsh, Heartland, and Hell on Wheels.

Every horse, buffalo, and livestock performer is carefully trained and handled by professional wranglers who ensure the highest standards of care on and off set. We work closely with actors to pair them with horses they are comfortable with, building trust and confidence before any scene. Our experienced team supervises all action, from dramatic Western chases to rodeo stunts and complex stunt sequences, ensuring both the animals and actors perform safely while delivering cinematic authenticity and excitement.
